Help Circus Royale Stay Afloat During COVID19

Damian Syred’s Circus Royale is a traditional Australian Circus that has been touring Australia for 49 years and like so many other entertainment businesses they have been forced to shut their doors with no warning, no income and no chance to prepare as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic. These unprecedented times have put them in such a unique situation as they have 22 international performers who now cannot work and are unable to return home as a result of border closures and flight cancellations.
These individuals are unable to receive any government funding or assistance as they are not Australian citizens. Their respective embassies are unable to offer any sort of financial aid or help with flights home to their families and support networks, leaving Circus Royale’s performers completely stranded and needing their community’s help.
Unfortunately whilst the show can’t go on the costs do. They’ve had no income whatsoever and still have an overwhelming amount of expenses. Damian continues to pay rent for the grounds they are staying on as they are unable to get back to their home property in WA, diesel for their generators to provide power for their many caravans, water, insurance costs, vehicle registrations, necessary shopping and health appointments, feed for all their animals and costs of necessary maintenance. In addition, there are all of the performers' general living costs, all of which Damian has been paying out of his own pocket.
After the recently reinstated stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne the light at the end of the tunnel grows more and more distant and we are unsure of how long this pandemic will continue to keep them stranded without any possibility of work or income. Damian has always seen the good in every situation and remained so positive when faced with losing everything he’s worked for now it’s his turn to ask the community for help. Circus Royale has always brought such happiness to its community and without your help it will not survive!
