Help Claire Achieve Her Dreams!!

Claire Jawor and her family have suffered a series of tremendous challenges this past year, starting in January of 2021, when Claire woke up with excruciating back pain. Her family rushed her to the emergency room, where she began to lose feeling in her extremities and was suddenly paralyzed from the chest down. She was immediately hospitalized, and due COVID-19 restrictions, she had to face this incredibly difficult journey alone for weeks. After a month of hourly physical therapy, she finally returned home to her family in a wheelchair.

 

After countless tests and misdiagnoses, the Jawors traveled the country, seeking doctors and new opinions to understand what happened to Claire’s body to cause this paralysis. Finally, doctors discovered a lesion on her spine that had caused her to suffer a severe stroke.

 

Throughout Claire’s recuperation, her older sister Audrey steadfastly supported her. Not only was Audrey her biggest ally and best friend, she was one of her closest caretakers, assisting Claire and helping her gain increasing independence throughout her recovery. On February 7, 2022, Audrey tragically passed away in a major car accident. Audrey’s unexpected death has been a devastating loss for Claire and her family.

 

Claire is an incredible, strong, kind, and loving soul who has suffered so much and deserves the support and quality of life so many of us take for granted. We are hoping to raise money to help Claire and her family pay for medical expenses, hire a much-needed caretaker, and promote Claire’s healing and independence. Any amount of support will truly mean so much to Claire and her family, who will be burying their daughter and sister Audrey on March 22, 2022. Donations for Claire are appreciated prior to her sister’s funeral, as the family is facing expenses for laying Audrey to rest. The Jawor family is beyond grateful for your love and support as they navigate this challenging time.
