Help Clara and Henry Cover Nighttime Baby Care During Chemo
Donation protected
UPDATE: Hello, Team Chuse (Chu+Chase)! I'm happy to report that Clara is about to do her 6th round of chemo next week which will mean she is halfway done with her treatment! Sterling is now almost 4 months old (and he has a giant head)! Henry is taking care of himself, Clara, and Sterling! They would all really appreciate having the doulas continue coming to provide overnight care for Sterling when his parents need to sleep. Would you consider making a contribution (or spreading their story on your socials) to help them continue receiving the much-needed childcare support?

Hello! Welcome to the world, Baby Sterling! Your parents have been waiting for you for a very long time! But now you need lots of care as a newborn, and your mom just got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She needs to take care of herself (and sleep!) so she can take care of you and watch you grow up.
Clara and Henry are unexpectedly needing to hire a nighttime nanny to help with baby care duties so they can get some sleep at night and wake up (somewhat) refreshed to tackle more baby duties on top of impending oncology appointments and treatments.
An internet search reveals the going rate for a nighttime nanny costs about $35/hr, so if the nanny works an 8-hour overnight shift, that comes to $280 per night, or about $1,400 for five nights of care. The goal is to set up Clara, Henry, and Baby with 1 month of nighttime baby care to start, so the goal is $5,600 (but after GoFundMe fees, it's more like $5,852).
UPDATE: Apparently the going rate for a nighttime nanny is closer to $60-95/hr. Curse you, inflation! This means approx $620/night -> $3,100/wk -> $12,400 for the month. =(
If you meant to send a baby gift to congratulate Clara and Henry on their new bundle of joy or to welcome Baby Sterling into the world but didn't get around to it yet, here is your chance! They need help more than they need stuff, and they need help NOW more than ever. Every bit helps, and your kindness will be very much appreciated by two very tired and weary parents.
Thanks for reading!
Sincerely,
Nancy
