Help Claro "Robert" Duran Rest In Peace

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

Thank you for reading. This Fund is for my father Claro "Robert" and my mother, Maria Cruz. Unfortunately, my father's health had a turn towards the worse late August. I came home from lunch, only to find Dad on the couch, gasping for air. He hadn't even noticed I came in. I had him focus on me and I calmed him down. Fearing the worse, we rushed to the emergency room. He was initially checked in for onsite Covid Protocols. He didn't have Covid.

Claro is locally known as Robert, or "Grandpa" Robert to many local neighborhood kids. He just had his 73rd birthday. He grew up a child of the railroad, became a soldier for the U.S., and fell in love in Mexico. He married my mother at 20, but they have been with each other since they were 12 years old. He has 3 "official" grandchildren in Matt, Cruz, and Benna. As well as his daughter, and his two sons.

My father has always been a bohemian at heart. He prefers to view wealth as love, and not finances. Which is ironic as he is quick to find a good cause to fight for. Like a loveable wolverine. He was brought up to always support and help family and friends. He always tells me that true wealth is in family, respect, and community. He is currently in a coma with severe respiratory problems.

My family and I have never believed in charity for ourselves. Willing to give, never willing to take. However, I need help with helping my father. My father and mother are the only reasons I'd break my pride. So here I am. My father has been in the ICU for almost a month. He has just been moved to a normal hospital room, but is still unconscious. We pray everyday. However, he has Medicare. As much as I'd like to focus on his fight for life, I have to make sure we can afford this fight for him!

Unfortunately, I am currently the only source of income for both my mother and father. Times like this make me wish I had focused on financial success, but I took after my fathers bohemian ways. That is why I humble myself and ask for any help. Proceeds are for the medical needs of my father, and financial needs of my mother, Maria Cruz. Best case scenario, it'll take months to bring him back home. Worse, well, I don't want to think about that. But I know that free insurance won't go far. I also need to make sure my mother is taken care of. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please take care of yourselves, and your families, but PLEASE make sure you take care of those you consider your father's and mother's.

UPDATE: After 42 hard fought days, my father, Claro Roberto Duran, has passed on on October 11th, 2021. We thank all the love, prayers, and donations. Unfortunately, this has gone from a fund to help dad fight, to a fund to help lay him to rest. We humbly request any help that may be spared. We love you Dad, Grandpa Robert, Viejo, Duran. We love you so much.
