Help Cleopatra Overcome Life-Threatening Infection

This is Cleopatra, Cleo or KiKi for short. She is my baby, my shadow, my pain in the ass, and neurotic dog. She loves everyone, if you enter the house you MUST say hi to her. There is no squirrel, leaf, or delivery man/woman that are safe from her notification and "protection" LOL. She will make sure we are well aware of the potential "threat". She would never do anything she is just the noisy alarm! You can never sneak ANY kind of chicken in the house without her knowing. She must inspect EVERYTHING new that comes into the house. She enjoys and demands to be under the covers with you at bedtime. She will try and make you jealous if she thinks you are ignoring her. She is the Queen of snuggles. She hates taking any meds and will try and out wit you when you try to hide it or sneak it in something else. She does not like trying new foods, she will take cautiously then spit it out.
The past few days we have watched her become more lethargic, gingerly walking around, not saying a word when the door opens. Or a delivery person pulls into the drive. She has stopped eating food and treats. So first thing this morning I called the vet and stated she needed to been seen. My biggest fear was a blockage of some sort. So we went in to the vet. Normally she HATES going for a ride and will cry the WHOLE way there. Today, there was no crying. We got in discussed all symptoms and oddities she is exhibiting. The vet did their exams and x-rays. The news turned out to be not good. She has pyometra, an infection in her uterus. (Pyometra: Overview. Pyometra is a serious and potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus that causes it to fill with bacteria and pus. Many dogs with a pyometra have vaginal discharge and may feel very sick with a poor appetite, lethargy, vomiting and sometimes increased thirst or urination.) This requires an immediate surgery, a $2000 surgery.
This year has been a rough one. We have had a lot of loss this year. Loss that has included sending two other beloved dogs over the rainbow bridge. We as a family cannot do this again this year. Especially when it is something that is very treatable, and we caught very early. Any help that someone can provide would be much appreciated, and we would be eternally grateful.
