Clyde needs brain surgery

Hi, we're Andrea and Rich, just a couple with a passion for helping cats needing a second chance. We're raising money to help pay for Clyde's vet bills. He is a 1.5 year old kitty who was surrendered on February 1, 2024 after the owner could no longer medically treat. We want to help him in anyway we can. We're hoping you do too!
Initially we thought Clyde's issue was just an oral nasal fistula. Basically a hole in the soft palate in his mouth. This is a problem because it makes it difficult to eat safely. Clyde's fistula makes him very congested and pone to nasal infection. The owner had surgery to close the hole three times. Each time it eventually opened. This type of surgery requires a specialist for the best chance of it taking.
As we learned more about Clyde, the story unraveled. Sort of. We decided to make a vet appointment even before we picked him up. It seemed urgent. We learned he is emaciated. It's hard to tell with so much going on but he has a hard time walking and his head is a little twitchy. Possible head and/or back injury. We're not sure if the muscle atrophy is contributing to his imbalance but regardless, he needs to gain strength. He has two, what appear to be, puncture wounds on the top of his head and an abscess or wound on his right cheek. We have no idea how or when it happened.
Our goal is to get him well enough so he can have surgery. Right now that means staying on top of nutrition, hydration and healing up those wounds. He still needs a couple x-rays but for now we're taking things one day at a time.
Clyde's vet spent so much time caring for and combing over every detail. We're so thankful for her expertise as his needs were urgent. He has a vet appointment on Monday, February 5 for a follow up. Will post an update then.
We don't know what's next for Clyde. We hope to have the chance to get him to surgery. With so many issues, we fear the worst but are hoping for his recovery. He'll have a long road if he can continue to improve. For now we're keeping the fundraiser amount to cover his recent visit as well as a few potential tests if need be. We anticipate his bills being much higher but we don't want to plan too far out. Send all your good vibes. If you choose to donate, thank you. We're currently fostering Clyde on our own and not through a rescue. All financial responsibilities are on us. We appreciate anything you can give to help this little guy.
