Help Coach Serrano Get a Double Lung Transplant

Family and Friends,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to share some important news about my mom, Eva Serrano, whom many of you know as Coach Serrano. Over the years, she has dedicated her time and passion to coaching various sports, starting with Killeen Parks and Recreation Center back in 2005. However, recently she has had to step away from coaching volleyball and basketball due to her health.

In 2021, my mom was diagnosed with a interstitial lung disease, a challenging condition that has progressively affected her lung function. Despite the difficulties she has faced, she has shown incredible strength and resilience throughout her journey. As part of her treatment, she has undergone various medical interventions, tried different medications, and participated in pulmonary rehabilitation programs to manage and strengthen her lungs. Her doctors have been impressed with her determination and are confident in her ability to recover.

However, the next step in her treatment is a lung transplant. She is now in the process of being evaluated for eligibility and is close to being placed on the transplant waiting list. While this brings hope for a better future, it also presents financial challenges for our family. Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover all of the expenses associated with lodging, medical costs, medication, meals, and travel during the post-transplant period.

This is where we need your support. My brother and I are incredibly grateful for the love and care you have shown our family over the years, and we are reaching out to you for help during this difficult time. We understand that everyone's circumstances are different, but any contribution, no matter how small, would make a significant difference in my mom's life. Your support would alleviate the financial burden and allow her to focus on her recovery without added stress.
