Hi there,
Our cat Coco has been through it all the last year. He is 14 years old and has always been a chipper, kind and rambunctious house cat. From getting stuck on the roof, to jumping on a wasp and getting stung, sticking his paw in hot candle wax, to getting out one night and not returning until 24 hours later. He always finds his little way.
About 5 years ago he developed diabetes, and requires insulin shots twice a day as well as special food for fight against UTIs.
More recently we had a huge scare. Due to his disease, it’s common for a cat with his condition to develop UTI’s, but this time it was much worse. He wasn’t eating, (which he ALWAYS does) felt really warm and was hiding under the bed, almost unresponsive. We took him to the emergency room- come to find out an infection spread to his kidneys, and we almost lost him. He developed ulcers in his mouth and his once pink nose turned dark black.
After days of treatment, he was able to pull through thankfully! He’s currently on antibiotics, but needs all of his rotten teeth removed, or else the infections will keep coming back. After the emergency room visit, it really put myself and my girlfriend in a hole. We both work full time and barley make enough to cover his medical costs now.
We applied for pet insurance but was denied due to a pre-existing condition.
We’re asking for your help to raise enough money for the procedure to get his teeth removed. The doctor is adamant that if we can get all of his teeth removed. Coco will not only get better, he could go into full remission for his diabetes.
Anything you can help us with will be greatly appreciated.
