Help Cody and Meg with Flint's Emergency Vet Care Costs

Donation protected
My name is Meg and I'm looking for help paying for a surprise emergency vet visit for my sweet boy Flint

Cody and I adopted Flint and his sister Briar as kittens through Hart of Maine in September of 2019, just as we moved into Cody's house. He has always been the more shy of the two, but has been the sweetest and most loving cat when its on his terms. With these high pitched, chirpy, meows when he is looking for attention or love.

On the morning of May 8th he was really not acting like his normal quiet and timid self, yowling loudly and standing still looking uncomfortable and lethargic. We couldn't get him in to see our normal vet, so we rushed him to another local Vet clinic. They were able to find out that he had a urethral blockage, they were able to unblock and drain his bladder, but gave an incredibly grim prognosis that we knew didnt seem right. After rushing him to an emergency vet that could monitor him and give us a second opinion, they were optimistic and gave us a plan to take care of him. Unfortunately that required surgery to recreate his urethra (which had clogged again in the time from running from one vet to the other) and clear his bladder out of any grit and stones.

Now, post surgery. He is doing much better! But he isn't quite passing fluids like they are expecting him to, and want to keep him longer to monitor his fluids and kidneys for any possible damage. His potassium levels are decreasing, but he just needs time to heal.

This sudden event has really sideswiped Cody and I, who were already beginning to struggle as costs for food, gas, electricity, services and more continue to rise. We are hard workers, who both work 40+ hour a week careers, and this has drained our savings, Care Credit cards, and then some. Its been a rollercoaster of not knowing if he was going to be okay, if this was all going to be worth it, etc.

We just couldn't say goodbye yet to your young boy, who still has so much life to live. Thankfully we didnt follow the first vets diagnosis and were able to actually get him help. Now he is looking good enough to come home in a day or two.

I'm looking for help paying the other half of our large $12,000 vet bill. Anything you can donate helps to pay for the cost of his overnight stays and surgery.

Thank you so much in advance.
