Help Cody raise money for gender affirming HRT!

Hi! I’m Cody!

I’m a 20 year old Transgender man from London and I’ve been out publicly as transgender for 5 years. I was told I was on the NHS wait list for hormone treatment for this past 2 years however, I was informed recently that this has not been the case. The list is around 6 years long which means these last 2 years have counted towards nothing. By this point, I will likely be around 26 years old and would have even graduated university.

I struggle greatly with my gender dysphoria and bind my chest daily (even for longer than the daily limit suggested by doctors) in order to feel remotely comfortable in myself. Most days, this simply isn’t enough for the general public to view me as anything but a woman and the major giveaway is my voice.

Testosterone is a hormone that can be prescribed to people like myself in order for trans people to go through male puberty. It would give me the voice drop I need to feel comfortable with myself as well as many other things like facial hair and body fat redistribution which would give my face and body and more masculine frame.

I have attempted to take my own life twice as I find it nearly impossible to live like this every day of my life. No haircut or clothing will ever change the way I’m perceived and my own perception of myself. Getting onto testosterone would help this massively. The wait lists are simply too long and for my own wellbeing, I need to pursue private healthcare to save my own life as my depression and anxiety keep getting worse due to my circumstances.

I plan to go through a service called GenderGP as they are the cheapest private option and all treatments needed in the first year including prescriptions would be around £650 provided my GP agreed to run blood tests on their part. I’m indeed scared of needles and blood and avoid them at all costs but this is so necessary to my long term mental health that I can’t even begin to think about the short term worries when this would fix a lot for me.

Any amount at all is extremely helpful and would go towards me being able to get the help I need in my transition as I can’t use my student loans to pay for this.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and if you can donate, just know I appreciate it more than anyone would ever be able to understand.

Love and appreciation,
Cody
