Help With Coffee Truck Start-Up Business

Donation protected
Hello Everyone, I'm Lorna. I am fundraising to buy a coffee truck to serve the Dallas Metroplex. The Lillian's Sit 'N' Sip Coffee Truck will be parked at festivals and local businesses. I will also cater to office parties, weddings, birthdays, and other merry occasions.

The struggle with getting financial backing is challenging, which is why I started this GoFundMe page. The $30K will help to secure a deposit on the truck, leaving me with enough for working capital. The truck is a 2004 International 14 ft. Step Van with under 100,000 in mileage, but the age is causing it to be viewed as a high-risk loan by banks.

In keeping with my desire for excellence, I am partnering with a local roaster to purchase coffee beans weekly to maintain the freshness of our delicious espresso and coffee drinks. Our beverage selection will have drip coffee, lattes, cappuccinos; iced and frozen coffee drinks. We will also serve smoothies and Italian sodas from various flavors to cool you off from the sweltering summer heat. And yes, we will have nice cold bottles of water. In winter, you find hot chocolate and apple cider to warm you up at the football game.

Tasty bagels, muffins, made-from-scratch specialty breakfast sandwiches, and more will be available to order with your beverage. You can order a panini sandwich, soup, or salad, and add a delightful dessert from our assortment of cake slices, brownies, cookies, and other pastries to complete your meal.

This coffee truck pays homage to my mother, Lillian. As a child, I remember waking up to the smell of coffee brewing in the morning. She loved having a cup of good coffee any time of the day. Previously, for 4 years I owned and operated a coffee shop in metro Atlanta by the same name. It was well patronized by the surrounding community and beyond until 2008 happened. I am sure you understand what I mean by that. With my experience managing a coffee business, I am confident the truck will be successful once I start.

I have been blessed to live a life focused on serving others. I founded and operated a nonprofit homeless shelter for families, was a caregiver for my mother who passed from Alzheimer's Disease and co-founded a nonprofit after-school program that serves South Dallas (After-School Opportunity Lab) teaching entrepreneurship, leadership, and project management to underserved youth. I do not regret a day of helping others, but it has eaten into any savings I had.

I am committed to continue serving others by having Giving Tuesday, which will feature a local or national nonprofit for the month. A portion of the proceeds from Tuesday's sales will be given to that nonprofit. Confirmation of the donation to the chosen nonprofit will be posted on the truck, social media accounts, and on the website. I welcome suggestions of nonprofits to support from donors and customers.

With your help, I'll raise enough money to purchase and retrofit a coffee truck that proudly offers wonderful coffee, mouth-watering food, and delectable desserts; all with outstanding customer service. I would appreciate any amount that is put on your heart to give.

Thank you and see you at the truck!!
