Help Colette on Her Road to Recovery
Donation protected
April 20, 2023, Colette was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer that was located in her tongue. She underwent surgery to remove part of the tongue and lymph nodes. Following this surgery she endured several weeks of radiation. At that time we believed she was in the clear. Unfortunately Colette found another spot on her tongue and on April 30, 2024 it was confirmed the cancer was back. Colette has been sent to the Huntsman Cancer Center in Utah to undergo further treatment. They have determined that she will need to have tongue reconstruction surgery. This will be an all day surgery followed by 2 days in the ICU. Colette will then remain in the hospital for several days for further recovery and monitoring. She will have a long road ahead of her with swallow and speech therapy. We are awaiting notification if radiation will be needed, if radiation is required this will also need to be done in Utah. At this time my mom has lost her insurance coverage, she has maxed out her benefits with the treatments and surgeries from the last diagnosis. We do not have an estimate with Huntsman at this time but we expect it to be a very large sum especially without insurance.
I am asking for your help in alleviating costs for our family in this time of need. Any little bit will help. My parents have not asked for this help but I know they could use it to allow some peace of mind with the financial portion of this. Funds will go to help pay outstanding medical bills, gas to and from Utah, room/board for overnights in Utah, as well as current and future treatment.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all that can help and if you cannot donate we ask for your prayers for a speedy and healthy recovery and safe travels along the way.
