Help Collin Jennings fight Cancer

Friends, Family and acquaintances my name is Tracy Gold and I am reaching out for financial assistance for my Brother Collin Jennings and his Family in South Africa. Collin is currently in Plettenburg Bay in South Africa undergoing treatment for Bladder Cancer.

Collin’s back and leg pains started in January 2022 and 3 hours of sleep a night was considered a bonus. 

Medical professionals/neurosurgeons all suspected a spinal issue and an MRI scan confirmed a slipped disc and three bulging discs. 

A disciplined Pilates/ Chiropractor/ Bio kineticist and Physio program was recommended, and this became part of his daily routine.

Through all of this he was still traveling and doing his work to the best of his ability and despite many after-hour visits to Bio kineticists and Pilates sessions the pain was not subsiding – it was in fact getting worse.

Another call was made to the Neurosurgeon in August 2022, and he suggested that they tried lumber block injections. (He is rightly conservative in his approach and does not rush to the operating table) These also yielded no success…

This left no alternative but to prepare for the dreaded back op and a date was set for this. On the morning of the back op the neurosurgeon called for a final MRI and what he found astounded him. Collin’s back showed significant improvement and healing since the first MRI – the Pilates and other interventions had in fact worked wonders but the pain was still there – something did not add up.

The back op was canceled 10 minutes before it was set to begin. They were back to square one. During all this, his right leg was becoming increasingly more painful, numb and unresponsive. 

At the end of September 2022, the pain and sleepless nights were taking their toll and Collin could no longer travel and complete assignments for his clients – this started affecting income significantly.

Later after broader investigations Urologists found a very large tumor which had established itself in the bladder, forced its way through the bladder wall and had gone into his right hip. The culprit had been found. The tumor went into the hip with such intensity that it caused a fracture in the pelvis. The size of the tumor was 9x5cm and a portion in the bladder was removed.

Stage four cancer was confirmed at this point. 

The rest of the tumor had surrounded the iliac artery so any intervention there was out of the question and still is. 

A portion of the tumor had also pushed right into the hip bone. This has obviously led to a host of treatments which started in mid-October 2022 and will continue until May/June of 2023. 

At this time there is still limited use of his right leg – it appears that sciatic nerve damage has occurred during all of this and a hip replacement of the right hip will also need to be done.
