Help Us Reach the F1 in Schools World Finals and Become World Champions!

Hello everyone,

We are a group of students from St. Colman's in Fermoy, and we have the incredible opportunity to compete in the 2023 F1 in Schools World Finals in Singapore. Our team, Adventum Racing, is composed of Fionn O'Connell, Jamie Dineen, Marc Callanan, Colm Clancy, Quentin Joyce, Darragh Casey, and Pearce Wyley.

What exactly is F1 in Schools?

F1 in Schools is a prestigious international STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) competition that challenges students aged between 11 and 19 years old. It allows us to immerse ourselves in the exciting world of Formula 1 by designing, racing, and building our own miniature Formula 1 cars. This competition provides invaluable insights into the workings of a Formula 1 team, helping us enhance our financial management, communication, and public speaking skills.

Our journey so far:

Back in 2020, when we first entered the competition as 'FAF Racing,' our goal was to give our best and compete with schools that had 20 years of experience in the competition. Despite limited resources, and having to do everything online due to Covid, we were determined and
passionate about taking on the best.

Our journey took us to the Irish National finals, where we secured an impressive 4th place, earning us a spot in the 2022 world finals. We competed in Silverstone, England, at the 2022 world finals with a Brazilian team under the name ‘Volta Racing’ and won ‘Best International Collaboration’.

2022 was a busy year for us and we set our sights on becoming the Irish champions for the first time in our school's and Munster's history. Rebranded as 'Adventum Racing,' we put in our best efforts and achieved our goal in May 2022, also securing Ireland's 3rd fastest car ever. This victory qualified us once again for the 2023 World Finals.

Now, on September 8th, 2023, we will proudly represent Ireland as National Champions at the F1 in Schools World Finals in Singapore. However, this incredible opportunity comes with significant costs, including transport, accommodation, manufacturing, materials, and other expenses.

What Can You Do?

We have been fortunate to receive generous sponsorships, which have helped us immensely. However, due to economical constraints that businesses are facing, it was difficult to get sponsorship to cover the full cost. With the finals just around the corner, we are reaching out to you, our community, for support in raising the significant funds required to compete at the highest level.

With 60 teams from 22 countries competing in the finals, our dream is to bring home the title of World Champions. By contributing to our GoFundMe campaign, you can make a direct impact on our journey and help us represent our school, friends, and family with pride.

Your support will not only provide us with the ability to compete but also give us motivation to succeed, reminding us that we have a community cheering us on. Together, we hope to make our dreams a reality and inspire future generations of aspiring engineers and innovators.

Thank you for your generosity and belief in our team!
