Help Col Lewis Empower Vets & Youth

Greetings, patriots and supporters of our noble defenders,
I am Colonel James Lewis (Ret.) and a Martial Arts Instructor, and after a lifetime of service to our country, I find myself embarking on a new mission: establishing a dojo dedicated to supporting veterans, law enforcement personnel, first responders, and underprivileged children in our community.
Throughout my military career, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by those who selflessly serve our nation. Many return home with scars—both visible and hidden—that persist long after their service ends. They seek camaraderie, purpose, and healing. The same holds true for our law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line daily to protect our streets, often facing immense pressures and sacrifices.
Moreover, our youth, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, need positive influences and opportunities to build discipline, confidence, and resilience. A dojo offers more than physical training; it fosters mentorship, leadership skills, and a sense of belonging.
Why a Dojo?
A dojo is not just a place to practice martial arts; it's a sanctuary where individuals come together as a community, supporting each other through shared experiences and mutual respect. It provides a structured environment where veterans can find solace and regain a sense of purpose through disciplined training. It offers law enforcement officers a place to unwind, recharge, and connect with peers who understand their challenges. For underprivileged children, it's a beacon of hope—a place where they can learn valuable life skills, cultivate self-esteem, and envision brighter futures.
Our Vision
The vision for our dojo extends beyond physical training. It will be a hub of support services, and educational programs tailored to the needs of our veteran and law enforcement communities. For underprivileged children, scholarships and subsidized training opportunities will ensure that financial constraints do not hinder their ability to participate and benefit from our programs.
How You Can Help
We cannot achieve this vision alone. Your generous support will enable us to secure a facility, acquire necessary equipment, and provide scholarships for those in need. Every contribution, whether large or small, will make a meaningful impact on the lives of those who have served and sacrificed for our nation, as well as on the futures of our youth.
Join us in honoring their service and giving back to those who have given so much. Together, we can create a lasting legacy of support, empowerment, and community.
Thank you for standing with us.
Respectfully,
Colonel James Lewis (Ret.)
