Help Combat Human Trafficking with Freedom Rising

I am reaching out with a heartfelt request for support on a mission that means everything to me. I'm seeking to raise $1,500 for a return trip to Bangladesh, where I’ll be serving as Executive Director of Freedom Rising, a newly established nonprofit dedicated to combating human trafficking. This trip will be my third journey to Bangladesh, but the first in this leadership role. I was introduced to these programs in Daulatdia, Bangladesh which is home to world's largest brothel, where thousands are trapped in a life of exploitation and despair. Our goal is to work with other nonprofits supporting these programs and work towards expanding into other brothel communities in Bangladesh and ensure their continued growth and success.

The programs supported by Children of Promise, the Hope Collective, and the Church of God show that change is possible. They have helped sever the chains of hundreds trapped in exploitation and given them hope for a better future instead of being trapped in a perpetual cycle of violence and exploitation.

The Meena Project: This initiative provides a secure, loving home for 50 young girls who have been rescued from trafficking or are at high risk due to their surroundings. Here, they receive education, counseling, and essential life skills to help them build a future free from exploitation.

The House of Hope: Located within the brothel itself, this center serves as a sanctuary for 255 children, providing daily meals, education, and a dedicated team of advocates who work tirelessly to protect and uplift them. Additionally, they offer vocational training and healthcare for the women working there, empowering them with alternatives and pathways to a new life. These programs are the only sources of light in these children’s lives, giving them a chance to experience safety, learning, and hope—things they might otherwise never know.

A core purpose of my trip will be to create a video highlighting these programs and the impact they are making and raising awareness about human trafficking in Bangladesh and Southeast Asia, so that we can rally even more people around this mission. I will also be meeting with local US Embassy staff to discuss the programs.
