Combat Vet Motorcyclist hit by distracted driver

Hello, my name is Carrie Foster. I am Ronald Fosters wife. On November 3rd, 2022 Ron was on his way home from work on his motorcycle when he was hit by a driver who was under the influence. He was immediately taken to the hospital in Alpena, Michigan and stabilized. It was determined he had an “open book broken pelvis,” a broken rib, a slight punctured lung, wrist broken in multiple places, laceration under chin, laceration and road rash on shins, and a concussion. He was then airlifted to Midland, Michigan. Once there they did a 6 hour operation to repair both his wrist and pelvis with plates and screws.

Ron is non weight bearing on his feet for 3 months other than quick transfers. He is also non weight bearing on his left arm for 1 month. He is looking at 4-6 months of recovery. Possibly doing inpatient rehab a little bit before coming home.

Ron is the main money maker in our family and will be out of work for 4-6 months. Not only at his everyday job but also his Army National Guard duty.

We are asking for help with medical expenses, travel expenses and everyday expenses as we now have a major loss of income.
