Help Combat Vets with Medical Transportation

My name is Steve Miller, and I am a Desert Storm Combat Vet. I was in the Navy for 9 active years and 3 reserves. I was a Hospital Corpsman "Doc", with 3/9 while in Desert Storm. Here is my story and mission statement:
October 1, 2019, I had a massive Heart attack. After 5 hours of the ER staff trying to figure out whether or not I should go to another Hospital that works on Heart situations, by Ambulance or Helicopter, my condition went from bad to worse. They chose Life Flight. Being a Combat Vet, I let everyone know to send all information and billing to the VA. Because I don't have outside health insurance, I use the VA for all emergency situations. Just like all us Combat Vets are told to do. Well over a year since the incident, I got a Bill from UofM Life Flight, and was told that the VA would NOT cover my Emergency Life Flight. I was given a name and phone number of the person responsible for this decision. When I finally got ahold of this person, I was then informed that I did NOT qualify for Medical Transportation.
To me, it sounded more like my life didn't matter to the VA. With that, I also feel that I can't be the only Combat Vet that has run into this kind of situation.
My goal is to make this fund cover, not only my $23, 000 Medical Transportation bill, but other vets with the same financial burden. Right now, I have only set the goal to $75K, but will increase the goal if I hear from other Vets, and or family members of Vets, who need help. My second goal is to get this turned into a NON-Profit program for Vets with Medical Financial problems.
No Vet should get a notice in the mail, like I did, that says their Emergency Medical Transportation was NOT covered by the VA, due to some bureaucratic BS. I thought the VA was to HELP Vets, not financially hurt them? Guess I was wrong.
Thank you for reading and considering this fund to help myself and other Vets, like me.
