Help Community Member Saris after Serious Car Accident

Our dear friend Saris (also known as Sar to many) was involved in a serious hit-and-run, head-on car collision in mid December, 2023. The vehicle that hit Saris was a stolen massive SUV which has not been found. Saris was driving straight through an intersection on a green light. The stolen vehicle then turned left into Saris’ car at full speed. Saris’ driver’s side was entirely demolished. This was an incredibly traumatic event and resulted in Saris being hospitalized and their car being completely destroyed and written off.

Unfortunately Saris’ insurance will not be paying for the loss of the vehicle (which was worth over $15,000).

This has left Saris without a vehicle and needing to buy another one. She has since incurred high debt costs after the accident including hiring a lawyer to help navigate insurance.

Saris is still suffering from a concussion and neck and back injury from the accident. They are still recovering and unable to return to work at this time.

Saris embodies the very essence of warmth, kindness, care and compassion. Saris is deeply committed to community care and has taught us so much about resilience and what it looks like to continually show up for community and global solidarity. We are so thankful that Saris is alive and want to return their unconditional and unwavering compassion as an act of community care. We are seeking funds to help Saris pay towards another vehicle during this difficult, stressful time as they continue to recover after the car accident.
