Help Complete “Socks on Concrete” short film!

Hi, I’m Jasper Noland, founder and director of Letmetellmystory (LMTMS) film production! Chicago born and raise. My Previous works include record breaking releases of community and artist driven works: LMTMS and VOICES. The first premiered with two fully sold out theaters, while VOICES earned not only a sold out release but a few festival awards as well. The recognition is a reflection of the overall response of these impactful projects.

MISSION STATEMENT /OUR STORY

I’m currently in pre-production for my film “SOCKS ON CONCRETE” That tells a story of culture and betrayal. While the Chicago 2012 era captured the essence of the world, Noah and his 3 friends are forced to make decisions that kids mostly make as young adults.

The reason I want to raise money for this film is that I want to spread awareness about careless acts and gun violence. I initially wanted to take people back to a time where we were just kids but also affected by gun violence. My own life experiences have steered from these times and I want the youth to know from “Socks On Concrete” that we can create a safe place for us to discuss.

THEME

Living in Chicago, I have grown to understand the city more. Thinking about our generation back in the 2009-2014 era was time to be alive. We created trends that will never be forgotten. Milestones were developed that later became monumental to that specific demographic such as, The Rink, Bud Billiken parade, spray painted shirts and just being a kid.

THE GOAL

With you guys support, we wish to raise 10,000 through Gofundme for the production and post-production of the film.

By this being an independent short film, it's already expensive to obtain such a number but luckily, we have several resources that are willing to help as we speak. We have already secured some of the production team and scouted out a casting team as well.

THE BUDGET

Every cent that is spent on this film will be shown on screen. We plan to shoot in the 2nd week of September for 5 days. STAGE 2-3 of my production is where the money will be needed the most. A requested rental for a Red cinema camera with 50-75 lens will be needed to catch the flow of the film.

Location rental and approvals is one of the more important roles that we will budget for. The rink is requesting 2,500 for the day. Cast members will be paided as well. For Post Production, the editor, colorlist, and sound will be given a flat rate for their service.
