Hi, we're the Eaton family. Kyle, Liz, and our kids Annabelle, Lydia, Luke, Mike, and Josh. When we were first married, we felt God put a burden on our hearts to someday adopt older children. Kids who knew that they would graduate out of the "system" and never have a family. Never feel wanted. Our hearts broke for those kids. We always thought "someday" we would pursue that...maybe through foster care, or however God wanted. But neither of us could have planned this story!

Liz went on a mission trip to Central America in the fall of 2021 and met some kids that she would never forget. Then the following year, the girls were preparing to go on a mission trip to that same location with the youth group from church. As they prepared to go back, God began to stir in Liz's heart a renewed calling towards giving a home to older children!

The topic of adoption was brought up and prayed about for several months. Was this the "someday" we had always talked about?! Our kids knew we were considering adoption, but we didn't share specific thoughts about what that might look like. The girls went on their trip to Central America and had a life-changing experience! When they came home, they were even more eager to adopt. We assumed they would want to adopt young children, but God had stirred in them a desire to adopt older children! Such a sweet confirmation!

So, here we are! Currently, we are in the home study process. That will likely wrap up by May. The whole process is expected to take 18 months, and will cost an estimated $45,000 with legal and travel fees. We are currently invested about $10,000 into the agency fees, and we will be applying for various grants that are available to families adopting older children and sibling sets. Hopefully that will cover another $10,000, but there will still be a solid $25,000 needing to be covered. Unfortunately, we are unable to cover the entire expense on our own, so we are wondering if you would like to partner with us in giving some teens a forever family?!!! Our hearts are so excited to welcome them into our home and our lives, and show them just how very loved and wanted they are!!! We know it will be hard, and we will need the support of our community not only in this financial component but also in helping them adjust to life in Minnesota and with a family.
