Help for a 99 Year Old Veteran Conned out of $29k
Donation protected
I’d like you to meet Almus Raymer, a 99-year-old WWII veteran, living in Middle Tennessee, who was shamelessly exploited by deceitful contractors. They preyed on his trust and took $29,000 for a project that should have cost a fraction of that amount. What's even more appalling is that they left the job unfinished.
This gentleman had a simple request– to have a screened-in patio so he can sit outside and enjoy his backyard. He was more than willing to pay a fair price for it and he was taken advantage of by unscrupulous people that took his money in bad faith and left him with nothing but a concrete slab and partial framing done wrong.
I want to make things right. He wants to celebrate his 100th birthday coming up surrounded by family and friends outside in his yard. I'm hoping to make that happen without this man having to pay another cent. But I am just one person and I cannot do this alone. I need your help.
I understand that not everyone may be able to contribute financially, and that's okay. But if you can spare anything – whether it's a dollar, a kind word, or simply sharing this story – you will be making a difference.
I don't seek recognition or praise and I'm donating as much as I feasibly can myself. I've secured a donation of a framing package from the good people at Lowes, who were more than willing to help, no questions asked.
All monies raised will go toward finishing this structure, making it sound and doing it right. Anything raised above the cost to make that happen will be given to Almus to help recoup what he lost.
Thank you for helping me make this happen!
