Help Connie Lee Fight Against Stage 4 Cancer

Sadly Connie has Stage 4 Cancer. A disease that has devastatingly and abruptly impacted her life on many levels. Her faith, strength and humor have carried her through good times and hard times. We know she has the resolve to tackle the hardships imposed on her, but we want to stand with her and support her in the journey to recovery and better quality of life as much as possible.

Connie has always been there for her family, friends and community as a daughter, sister and friend. As a young healthcare practitioner in psychotherapy, she has served her community and supported several organizations in Toronto and New York City to assist disadvantaged individuals struggling with addiction and abuse to enable them to succeed and overcome life-altering obstacles. Also, she has spent considerable time with hospitalized seniors, many so far away from their loved ones, reading to them or simply keeping them company, as loneliness and stress can dramatically reduce someone`s quality of life. Connie has always been there for others in need, and now it’s time for us to show up for Connie in her time of need.

I want to share some background on Connie`s journey so far. Connie was first diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2019. At that time, the prognosis was very positive, and a surgical approach to removing the malignant growth was sufficient. However, a routine test was completed in Jan 2022. To the shock of Connie and her health care providers, it was discovered that her cervical cancer has not only returned but has also aggressively advanced to stage 3 cancer with spread to her lymph nodes. Connie was placed on a treatment plan that included aggressive radiation and chemotherapy for many months, in addition to seeking the care of several alternative therapies designed to rebuild her health as recommended by her Naturopathic doctor. Unfortunately, in July 2022, tests showed that cancer had spread to Connie`s lungs, effectively rendering her diagnosis to Stage 4 cancer. The rapid spread of the disease has puzzled her healthcare team, and a new treatment plan has been put in place, including a more aggressive chemotherapy course.

As Connie enters this new phase of treatment, she will need our help and support to cope with the next chapter in her fight against Cancer. Connie has not been able to work at her private practice since she started her treatment in February due to physical and mental exhaustion and a demanding treatment schedule. In addition, costs related to egg harvesting, prescription drugs, alternative therapies, dietary restrictions, and living expenses such as mortgage payments have been a burden on Connie. The cost of all this amounts to much financial loss and not to mention the grief and loss in other areas of her life.

Our priority is to help Connie defeat cancer and help her get back to the life she sorely misses, so we are raising funds to aid her in the journey to getting healthy and vibrant again. With much gratitude, thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with Connie, including the healthcare team and the amazing nurses, friends/family that have cooked delicious meals for Connie, checked in with her, taken her to hospital appointments and kept her company when she needed it as Cancer should never be faced alone. Connie and everyone in her life greatly appreciate your contribution.
