Help Conrad Avoid Eviction

UPDATE 8/25:
This feels like a miracle, you all helped me raise so much to catch up. I have court on 9/3 and have raised enough to pay back rent and the court fees as described. I am keeping this gofundme up through the court date in case any extra fees come up, but I am not going to raise my goal at this time. I will only do so if needed!
I am so blown away by the generosity of all of you, especially the generosity of Ascension Episcopal Church in Stillwater, St Stephen's Episcopal Church (my former parish) in Fargo, my aunt Jane, and lastly Elly who shared my fundraiser easily a dozen times!

Hey! My name is Conrad and I'm trying desperately to keep my housing.

Here's the reality: Last year and into this year has been hard on me financially. I have had two surgeries, one planned and one unplanned, and several kidney stones and one mystery illness that resulted in time away from work and lots of medical bills. On top of that, at the end of July 2023 my car was stolen and totalled, resulting in me losing one of my incomes (Doordashing) until I found a new car. When I purchased a new car I did not realize just how much having a car stolen reported to insurance would dramatically increase my car insurance premium, and recently that premium has doubled to the point that my car payment and insurance now is the same as my rent.

I have at this point fallen a few months behind on rent and as of today recieved an eviction notice.

I am raising money to pay what I owe back to my landlord and to ensure myself and my roommate do not find ourselves kicked out from the home we have rented for over 2 years. My roommate has consistently paid his half of rent on time my being behind has been unfair on him but he has never complained.

I need to raise $3000 to catch up on rent and late fees and my goal is set to $4000 to help me pay next month's rent and utilities and to be able to expunge the record of this eviction filing after we pay what we owe.

Thankfully, I do have some interviews coming up for a second job to provide more consistent pay and stability than Doordash! I just really need the help now because of the time crunch!

Thank you so much!

- Conrad

UPDATE FOR 8/13

Ascension Episcopal Church in Stillwater very generously is sending enough money to cover fully half of the money I need to get out of this situation and not be evicted. I am so deeply thankful to them and for everyone else who has given through here, and through other means. Because of this I am lowering my goal to $1700 which will get me exactly where I need to be! Thanks again!!!

UPDATE 8/17

I will need to pay the court fees for my landlord which appears to be $299 so that has been added to my goal. BUT ALSO I am *lowering* my gofundme goal to $1500 to account for the money I've raised through other means.

Thank you!

UPDATE 8/20

We finally got the last bit of paperwork needed for info on our eviction. I was incorrect about the court fees I will need to pay to redeem the tenancy. I saw online an average of $300 but the paperwork we were served said it's $450. So I am raising the goal by $150 to match that need.
