Help Coopie Beat Periodontal Disease!

Hello, my name is Madison McCall, and my best friend’s/co-parent’s name is Lexah Frees. We come to you on behalf of our elderly fur-baby, Coopie.
Lexah and I never planned to be pet parents, but Coopie came into our lives by luck and brought us more joy than we thought possible.
It all started when I offered to groom a dog that I came across via Facebook. He was in horrible condition and appeared to be ownerless.
When he came in to be groomed, I expected to be met with a terrified, and possibly aggressive stray dog.
Coopie was anything but that.
He was the most gentle, affectionate, and patient old guy I’ve ever met. I knew almost immediately I wanted to keep him.
He now lives with my best friend, and is loved and cherished beyond measure.
Unfortunately, a little over a week ago; We noticed that Coopie, who has severe periodontal disease, had a swollen mouth. It was sensitive to the touch, and he wasn’t acting like himself.
The situation got worse over the course of the next few days, and it began to bleed as well.
We took him to the vet soon after, and we found out that he has a bacterial infection, and will need to have many teeth removed. He has also developed a heart murmur.
Unfortunately, due to his age and his heart, this process became much more costly. We needed bloodwork, stool testing, and scans done to make sure that he is suitable to be put under anesthesia for the teeth removal. Additionally, he will need a second round of blood work at the time of the surgery.
We are doing everything possible to make sure that Coopie can be comfortable and healthy again, but it will cost us approximately $3,000 to do so. We are functioning on credit cards and prayers.
We are urgently asking for your support in paying for Coopie’s vet bills, so that he can get the help he desperately needs. Any little bit helps and is SO appreciated, whether that’s through donations or simply sharing our fundraiser.
Those of you who know Coop, know how truly wonderful and unique he is. He is a once-in-a-lifetime type of dog, and he steals your heart without warning. He deserves nothing but the best!
If we raise more than the cost of his vet bills, we will be donating the remainder to another pet in need via GoFundMe.
Thank you, thank you, thank you,
Madison and Lexah
