Help Corey raise funds for top surgery

My name's Corey (he/they) and I'm fundraising to finally get life-saving, gender-affirming top surgery.

 

I came out as transgender last year at the age of 29, after a lifetime of suppressing who I am. And oh boy, has living my truth changed my life. I'm now on testosterone and my body is finally starting to reflect who I am. The only thing that can't be resolved without surgical intervention is my chest dysphoria.

 

Trans healthcare in the UK is notoriously underfunded and understaffed. In fact, the waitlist just to have an initial appointment for a gender dysphoria diagnosis on the NHS is 5 years. My 30th birthday is looming and I can't wait another 5+ years to start living my life free from gender-related distress. For this reason, I've decided to seek private surgery.

 

Fundraising will cover the costs of:

- 1st assessment with a gender psychiatrist for a diagnosis and referral for surgery

- 2nd assessment with another gender psychiatrist for a diagnosis and referral

- Top surgery consultation with my chosen surgeon

- Top surgery and care at the hospital

 

All in all, this will come to around £8,000. Gender-affirming healthcare saves lives, but it's so expensive. So every contribution made will mean the absolute world to me. Thank you in advance for making this little trans human smile!
