Help Cori's Journey to Recovery and Relocation Costs

Hello all,

I have been struggling since January and I am finally reaching out for support. I am waiting on an SSDI determination for my multiple physical and mental disabilities. While I am waiting, I cannot work due to it jeopardizing my case and work continuing to traumatize me. I have experienced workplace discrimination being Black, trans and disabled. My hostile work environment has included isolation, degradation, humiliation and overall inaccessibility. I can no longer work because my mental health has gotten so debilitating that I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia this year as a result of PTSD.

I now am an ambulatory mobility aid user and require my spouse to help me do everyday tasks such as feeding and bathing to making phone calls and going outside. I have also been dealing with a conservatorship under my narcissistic mother who stole my emotional support animal which has added significant duress. She has also blocked me from getting medication that I need and harassed me and my spouse.

I have had multiple hospitalizations over the last several months and I am currently in a treatment program where I spend a majority of my time if I am not at home. My time at my treatment program is coming to an end and I will no longer have state disability insurance to cover my rent and food and gas or to save for my upcoming move to Washington.

I am moving to Washington to receive better care and quality of life because the hustle and grind of LA has burnt me out. I will be surrounded by community and family that can more than adequately take care of me. Please don’t let me fall through the cracks. Any amount is helpful and will help me overcome these great odds.
