Help us help Cory Ireland's family

As many of you know, Cory had a fatal accident while enjoying one of his favorite sports, dirt biking. As a family we are heartbroken over the loss of our son, brother, husband, father and friend.
Please keep his wife, Angie, and the kids, Kaydence, Eli and Ronan, and the rest of the family in your thoughts and prayers. Our goal is to ensure that Angie is able to care for their children without worry. Financial help is welcomed and very much appreciated. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for loving Cory as we did.

Cory, a Durango local, was recently blessed with the arrival of his third child, Ronan. Cory truly felt that he and Angie had done it. He was so proud of his family and felt absolutely complete. Cory is survived by his wife of 8 years, Angie, and children Kaydence (6 yrs), Eli (4 yrs) and Ronan (1 month old). He was an amazing father; he had patience and guidance for his kids, teaching them while letting them experience life and have fun. Kaydence would keep him in line, while Eli was Cory’s true “mini-me” - bounding with energy and karate moves! Angie, the love of his life, supported Cory throughout their relationship and was his rock. Vice versa, Cory was a devoted husband, loving Angie through and through.
Cory LOVED Durango! He was passionate about Purg, having worked there since high school where he started out as the resort mascot - the Beaver! Many of you will remember this! He felt peace and joy when shredding the mountain and was teaching both kids how to ski. He felt most free while dirt biking. It was his chance to relieve stress, mess around and have fun, and get time with his friends. We can all hear Cory “Brapping,” cheering on his friends with a “Chea.” Over the years he had various jobs on the mountain, Father’s Daughters Pizza, as a river guide with Mild to Wild, and he most recently worked at James Ranch where he was loved by the owners, customers and staff.
Cory lived his life to the fullest with great friends, a loving family and passion for the outdoors, and his final resting place could not be more reflective of this desire. Tucked in the San Juan National Forest, the Hermosa Creek and Jones Creek trails are local favorites; an area with old-forest growth and burn out from the 416 Fire, but rebounding with sprouting branches of new growth. As with this area of the mountain, we know that Cory will help us all recover, “let it be” and live life like he did.
We want to thank the La Plata County Search and Rescue, Durango Sheriff’s Department, Flight for Life Montrose and all technical teams deployed from the La Plata County Search and Rescue. Lastly, thank you to all of Cory’s friends and family for their efforts to bring Cory home. Cory was truly loved by all who met him.
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
