Help 20 Tanzanian Orphans Reach the Summit of Mt Kilimanjaro

Hi, I am Courtney and I will

be taking 23 Tanzanian Orphans from the small Village of Kyela Mbeya Region Tanzania up to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro next summer, July 2025!

These Tanzanian Orphans lost their parents as infants and toddlers during the AIDS epidemic in Tanzania in the 90's. They grew up in an Orphanage in Kyela Village Tanzania until 2014. Misfortune full on them again when in 2014 they were kidnapped from the orphanage as 6-17 year olds and abandoned in remote rural areas left to fend for themselves. Since 2014 life has been difficult to say the least. This Kilimanjaro summit is an unimaginable dream come true for each of these orphans that we're going to bring to life - but we need your help!

Why am I doing this? To bring access to the outdoors and an unforgettable mountain experience to a group of Tanzanian Nationals that would never see the summit or have an experience like this otherwise. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world: 19,341 ft above sea level and it’s in their country Tanzania!! Sadly only and estimated 0.2% of Tanzanians will ever be able to summit Mount Kilimanjaro purely because it is a luxury cost that is simply unattainable to the average Tanzanian.

These kids could never dream of being able to attain such an accomplishment so I want to make it a reality, with your help. Will you join me?

The cost per kid is going to be $2k. I am working with an amazing local guide service that gives a significant discount for Tanzanian nationals. The cost breakdown per kid is $1,239 for the 7 day trek (food and lodging during the trek included in price), this goes directly to the guide service. Then $300 for transportation and lodging to get each kid from Kyela or Tunduma to Arusha. $350 for gear and essential items for the trek and $111 for miscellaneous personal expenses for the trek. This is a conservative estimate of costs but will cover the essentials. 100% of all money donated will go to these kids. (For transparency, all of my costs and any other non-Tanzanians that may join us on the trek are all 100% self funded. Not a penny of the money raised will be used for anything other than the kids).
