Help cover Bertha’s Medical & Prep 4 Funeral costs

Hi, my name is Betima (Betz) Villagomez. On behalf of my nieces/nephews and family, we are seeking your help to fundraise for their mother Bertha Villagomez, lovingly known as, Bert Kiyu.

Bert is originally from the island of Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, but lived her life in the island of Tinian with her mother, children, & grand children. She is the daughter of the late Vicenta Villagomez (Nang Betang) of Tinian and Jesus Tenorio Villagomez of Saipan.

Bert is known as a strong and loving mother who is always trying her best to give everything for her children. During Christmas of 2019, in the island of Guam, all while everyone enjoying the festivities, Bert was suffering from a brain aneurysm. In January 2020, the doctors on Guam conducted a procedure to save her life. During this difficult time, family were advised by the doctors that Bert will likely come back in a vegetative state however the children and family did not loose hope. Bert proved the doctors wrong and within a month after her surgery, she was up walking and looked normal as if nothing had ever happened to her. She was given another chance to be with her loved ones.

Despite her doctor’s orders of taking it easy, she was always the stubborn one and went ahead and did what she loves best, which was working or being outdoors.

For the past 3 years, she has lived life to the fullest! She is a great mother, but even more, she is the greatest grandmother… She loves her children /grandchildren so dearly... She is very hardworking and also showed a lot of tough love to her children and her children’s friends. Bert just wanted what was best for the people she loves dearly. In the end- everyone loved Bert.

On July 8, 2023, Bert suffered a major stroke which ruptured a vessel in a very critical part of the brain causing it to fill with blood. She was rushed to the hospital on Guam and after multiple scans and medical testing, her doctor’s advised her family that their was nothing they could medically do but to make her as comfortable as possible. As of the moment, she's in coma and on life support...

Everything happened so quickly and no one ever saw this day coming. Our family are not financially prepared for the situation that we are currently facing and have yet to face; therefore, we created this GoFundMe page for anyone who would like to help with Bert’s medical and prepare for funeral expenses and also help bring her children, who are currently in the States, to say their final goodbyes and spend the last moments with their mom.
