Help Cover Coco's Lifesaving Care Costs

A couple weeks ago my partner and I were approached by a very friendly dog in a parking lot. I first noticed her when she licked my leg, and I thought she had just wandered off from her owner. When she turned towards my partner, I saw that the dog had a large gash in her side. She wasn't bleeding out, but her flesh was exposed and I feared that she wouldn't survive running around with the injury. The dog then urinated and ran off. We ran after her, called animal control, and comforted her as we waited for them to arrive.
While we were waiting, the dog's owner arrived and informed us that her name was Coco. The owner was a homeless man who could not afford to have her treated. He was distraught and apprehensive about interacting with the authorities. We nearly had an altercation while trying to convince him to wait for help to arrive. Fortunately for Coco, we pursuaded him to wait for help with us.
The city only pays for veterinary care in cases where no owner can be found, even if the animal's owner is destitute. We couldn't bear to let such a grave injury go untreated, so we paid $1160 for the surgeries and treatments that Coco needed to ensure her recovery.
She has been recovering well, but my partner and I needed that money to pay our bills. We are asking that you help us cover some of the cost of Coco's care. Anything helps.
