Help Save Cookie the Cat!

My name is Katie and I am raising funds for the Durant family. Cookie, the family cat, was shot in the head in their neighborhood yesterday. His owner's wife passed away a few weeks ago, and he himself is recovering from back surgery. Estimated costs for surgery and veterinary care has been estimated at $10,000-$15,000. Please help! This family. has already lost so much this year. Funds will be given to Advanced Veterinary Care . Any money raised in excess of costs will be given to an animal rescue.

UPDATE: Cookie had two pellets surgically removed through the tear in her soft palate today. She is resting comfortably and amazingly doing well! She may be able to go home tomorrow, but will require close follow up. Your kindness and generosity is overwhelming. Thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

UPDATE: Cookie went home last night to a very relieved owner. Through your support, her vet bills thus far have been nearly completely covered! I hope you have a wonderful holiday. The world is a better place with people like you in it.

UPDATE 12/24: Cookie had to be readmitted to the veterinary hospital last night for a feeding tube. She is not quite out of the woods. I am attaching a photo of her with. her owner during the brief time that she was home yesterday.

UPDATE 12/29: Cookie is eating much better and is having her feeding tube removed today. Her vet bills are covered, thanks to you all! Her family and I are so very grateful. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
