Help cover funeral expenses for my beautiful mother

on 10/11/2024, my mom was found shot in her stomach, left by people she trusted in an apartment building in Maywood, IL. Just 3 days after my sisters birthday. We had plans to celebrate the day after she passed. The investigation is still ongoing, and I can't disclose any more information that would hurt the chances of my family getting justice. We received a call from Maywood police to come down with immediate family to discuss what occurred.

My 5-year-old sister was found on the street outside of the house they were living in by neighbors. She was dropped off by 2 African American men. My little sister was unfortunately there when this incident occurred. It's terrible knowing my sister was there watching our mom slowly pass away. And those 2 men know what truly happened as well. I truly wish we can get the full story one day from her, but as of right now, all I can think of is how my sister ended up outside all alone.

My mom wasn't a perfect mother, but she did love us, and she was always trying her best to do better. Nobody deserves to see their own mom get shot and pass at such a young age. I am creating this GoFundMe so we can receive help with funeral expenses. Thank you.
