Dear Friends and Supporters,
We are incredibly grateful for the love and support you’ve shown our family during this heartbreaking time. Your contributions are helping us bring Jeannine home to Utah and cover the unexpected expenses and funeral costs.
There has been some asking for a Venmo account instead, so if you are interested in donating via Venmo, please send me a message.
Thank you for being there for us and for honoring Jeannine’s beautiful spirit with your generosity.
With deepest appreciation,
The family of Jeannine Skinner
Jeannine was more than my sister; she was a friend and a confidant. Her warm personality had a way of attracting others and making them feel at ease. She was adventurous and loved to be in the outdoors. She was always the first to intervene on behalf of others and establish peace in the face of conflict. Perhaps it was the sparkle in her eye, or her natural smile that brought the best out of everyone. She will leave a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
On Friday, August 23, Jeannine drowned on a canyoneering trip in California. She was the first one in the water and landed in a whirlpool that pulled her down. Peter On and David Bell noticed that she was in distress and attempted to rescue her. They also drowned in the process.
Jeannine left behind her parents (Kathleen and Larry Skinner), two sisters (Sharalyn Backus and Julia Neukirchen), two brothers-in-law (Brady Backus and Zach Neukirchen), and five nieces and nephews (James Backus, West Neukirchen, Belle Neukirchen, Grant Neukirchen, and Faith Neukirchen).
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” – John 11:25
The passing of Jeannine has placed us in a dark storm. While the storms in our lives have many origins, the answer is only one – Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. Please join us in prayer and reverie of Jeannine Elaina Skinner.
