Dear Friends and Family, It is with sheared hearts and extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Whitney. Joyce was a bright spark in the world and will be deeply missed. She started teaching High School Mathemacs in New Jersey and a&er 3 years, moved on to Houston for 3 more years. Then in 1983 Joyce moved to Denver and has lived there ever since. While there, she got her Master’s Degree and connued teaching for 22 more years in Adams County; 17 years at High School Level and 5 years in Middle School. She also enjoyed teaching AP Calculus for 10 years. Her philosophy on teaching math is to use hands-on acvies to help her students understand and learn the complex meanings. Joyce’s was very acve in her community and neighborhood and was extremely social. She enjoyed spending me with friends, volunteering at museums and she loved her dogs above all else. Some of her favorite activities including skiing and snowshoeing in the winter as well as hiking and camping in the summer. She is with her parents and her Kosmic now. Joyce has touched many lives throughout her life, and it is our turn to give back to her family in their me of need. We are raising money to cover the costs of Cremaon for Joyce, as her passing was completely unexpected. All funds raised will go directly to her brother, Douglas Rupp and his wife Angelika as they do what needs to be done for this wonderful lady, teacher and friend.
