Help Cover Katherine Bruner's Final Expenses

My name is Kai Tave, and my mother Katherine Bruner has just passed away at 71 years old due to sudden health complications.

My mother and I have always been very close. She was truly a great person, who for many years did everything she could as a parent to raise me, then support me. It's honestly hard for me to find the words to succinctly encapsulate her life in all the ways it deserves to be remembered, as an educator for decades, as a member of the community, and as a parent. How can you summarize a person's existence that way? I'm not sure how. Her death was sudden and unexpected, and I now find my life is that much emptier with her passing.

Kate never had any life insurance policies, nor did she have any inheritance to leave me...we've always lived relatively paycheck-to-paycheck with only modest savings to fall back on. Now with her gone, I find myself in the unenviable position of having to make funereal arrangements for her, deal with outstanding bills and expenses, and other assorted costs that come with the sudden and tragic passing of a family member. I normally try not to make a habit of crowdfunding, but right now I'm not sure what else to do at the moment. I understand the world is full of tragedies and heartbreaks and mine is small in comparison, but right now, to me, it feels enormous. I miss my mother dearly, and I would give anything to have her back.
