Help cover Millie & Willow's Vet Bills
Donation protected
Hi, for my birthday this year, I'm asking all my near and dear friends to donate to help cover the vet bills of my family animals. The past few days have been tough for my family, mainly my mum so I thought I'd reach out and ask for help.
My mum Lisa lives in regional victoria far away from the city & her kids. She has two beautiful animals Willow (a 17-month-old rescue kitty) and Millie (a 15-month-old german Sheppard) who have quickly become the best things in our lives.
This week both of them were rushed to the emergency vet for separate reasons. Since my mum lives rurally the nearest vet was in Bendigo, an hour's drive.
Millie suffered a dynamic bowel obstruction which evolved into an infection. She was in so much pain but luckily the vet was able to remove the blockage and place her on antibiotics without surgery.
Only 2 days after this scare with Millie's life, my uncle called my mum from Bealiba to tell her he had found Willow bloody and hardly alive, following what looks like an animal attack in the night. My mum rushed back home to save her and take her to the vet in Bendigo, praying she wouldn't have to say goodbye.
After many anxious hours waiting, the vet confirmed Willow experienced severe trauma mainly to her eye and they would monitor her overnight to see if she would pull through. Her eye ended up pooling with blood and gave the vets no other options but to remove it. We tried to make light of the situation calling her our new pirate baby yet we were devastated for her.
We are so lucky they both are in recovery and their healing is underway (willow is still in a very rough shape). However, my mum is now faced with over $2000 worth of vet bills. I made this go-fund as my mum is currently unemployed due to a workplace injury and is struggling to do it by herself.
It kills me to not be in Victoria to help all three of them get through this. Help make my birthday magical by donating! If you can spare even $5 it would make the world of difference to my family. Imagine you're shouting me a coffee!
