Help cover Miso's emergency medical expenses

Dear friends and family,

Sam and I didn't think we'd have to make a campaign like this so soon after adopting our cats Miso (5) and her daughter Noodle (8 months).

We brought Miso to the vet five days ago for a routine checkup, where they noticed she had elevated liver enzyme levels and was having difficulty eating. We learned that she had lost about a pound in two weeks. We had to rush her to the emergency vet hospital to get bloodwork and an ultrasound done to figure out what was going on.

Unfortunately, Miso was diagnosed with Pancreatitis and a liver infection (cause unknown) which required her to stay overnight in the hospital for four days. On the third day, we were told that if we did not give Miso a feeding tube, there was a chance we would need to euthanize her. This was obviously devastating news, as we have only had Miso for eight months, and thought she was happy and healthy up until this point. We elected to install the feeding tube, which she responded well to and luckily we were able to bring her home from the hospital this morning. We will have to feed her and administer her medication through the feeding tube for the foreseeable future until she can eat on her own again.

It's going to be a long and expensive road to recovery for Miso and we were hit hard with the cost of her medical care this morning at $8,200. We are asking for any kind of support you can provide, as we know that these initial medical expenses are likely just the beginning. In addition to these initial medical costs, Miso will almost definitely need follow-up ultrasounds ($700/each), bloodwork ($200/each), and vet checkups ($70/each) until she has recovered.

It's not easy to ask for help, but we want to give Miso the best chance at living a long and happy life with us and her daughter Noodle. Anything you give is extremely appreciated and will go directly to Miso's current and future medical expenses.
