Help cover Mo's unexpected medical expense

**Update Mar 1, 2024** My goodness what a ride, what a ride. Tuesday the 27th Mo was transferred to a long term care hospital and was decided he'd be there for approximately 10-14 more days but things were beginning to look up. In addition to the hospital transfer, his doctors were transferred with which thank goodness for that because overnight on the night of the 28th, Mo went into cardiac arrest and due to poor communication, Amy nor the doctor was notified until the next morning. Thankfully the Doctor happened to be walking by as they were discussing next steps and he was able to intervene and placed a line into the side of Mo's neck to start medication. As of today, Mar 1, Mo is receiving another blood transfusion and is stable. It's been a long fight, but your prayers, kind words, and donations have made his fight possible for this long
**Update Feb 25, 2024** On the 23rd Mo had another surgery to place a drain tube and praise the Lord, that seems to finally be helping. In Mo's words "I feel awesome" which is wonderful. He's still in a fragile state and requires long term hospital care but tomorrow he will be moved to a different hospital that specializes in long term care vs. ICU care. Thank you again to everyone who has donated, your care means the world!
**Update Feb 23, 2024** Thank you to everyone who has donated thus far, it means so much to know you were will to send your hard earned money to help aid Mo. It's an emotional time, a lot has happened in the last 48hrs and there's still more to come. Mo had surgery on the 21st to removed as much of the gangrene infection as they could and he seemed to have been doing much better, in fact yesterday he was move out of ICU and into a regular room. His kidney's have started to respond but still require monitoring and the talk yesterday was positive and discussions for long term care were taking place. Unfortunately this morning things have changed, it appears the infection is still raging war on Mo's body and he will be returning to surgery this afternoon to have tubes placed to help with drainage but amputation talks are now being held. Again, thank you so much for your willingness to give, please consider sharing this page to reach out to others that know and care about Mo.
**Update Feb 21, 2024** Mo’s condition remains critical but he is stable and doctors have given him a 30% recovery rate. What they’ve found is the blood loss was actually due to severe dehydration and thankfully not an internal bleed. Unfortunately this has caused significant kidney and liver damage in which they are not functioning properly and are close to shutting down so they require close monitoring. Doctors have also discovered the root cause of Mo’s life threatening infection is due to him having gangrene in his pelvis and stomach. He’s currently in surgery to assess the gangrene and to remove as much as possible.
Hi, my name is Courtney and I'm creating this gofundme on behalf of Mo and Amy. For the last month, Mo has been battling an unknown infection in his colon and recently things have taken a drastic turn for the worse. A few days ago Mo was rushed into emergency surgery for what was thought to have been an abscess but when they were unable to find it, he was sent home. A day later Mo was back in the emergency room in unbearable pain, vomiting blood, and unable to eat or drink anything. It was then found Mo had an internal bleed and had gone septic. On top of that his heart was beating out of rhythm and required medication to slow it down and return to normal. Mo has been placed into the ICU and is currently awaiting MRI results to show exactly where the bleed is at, and has received 2 pints of blood. The results of the MRI will indicate what surgery is required next.
These funds will help cover the costs of all medical tests, procedures, and post op care. In addition this will also help Amy’s daily travel expenses to and from the hospital. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
