Help Prepare for Myka's Funeral Expenses

As our family prepares for Myka’s transition, we've been given an estimate of the funeral costs. All donations up to now have blessed us with the opportunity to make incredible memories with Myka, while managing living expenses during our time away from work. For those new to Myka's story-

Last July, Myka was taken to the ER for what was thought to be a kidney stone. After her first CT, it was determined she had a mass on her kidney. Phoenix Children's Hospital performed a nephrectomy, and because of the complexities in her pathology report, it took 7 weeks to diagnose her with stage 4 cancer. The scans showed the cancer spread from her kidney to her liver and lungs.

Her doctors recommended chemotherapy for 30 weeks and Myka fought hard through treatments for 3 months. Unfortunately, the updated scans showed disease progression and she received a terminal diagnosis just before Christmas. Our family has transitioned to hospice at home with her.

Through the heartache, we are grateful for the time we've had to make memories together. To know Myka is to know selfless love, gentleness, and joy. She is the double stitch in our family's quilt; We are better people for knowing her.
