Help Cover Vlorian's Funeral Expenses

Amanda Lewis and Zanalee Allen are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Carolmaria Bernardino, the mother of Vlorian. Our community is mourning the tragic loss of a bright and beloved 12-year-old boy, Vlorian, who tragically lost his life on Saturday, December 7, 2024, after falling through the ice at Washington Park.

Vlorian was a kind-hearted, curious, and joyful boy whose love for life touched everyone around him. His passing leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and neighbors.

While walking across the partially frozen lake, Vlorian fell through the ice. In a heroic attempt to save him, an 11-year-old girl also fell through. First responders were able to rescue the girl, who is now in critical condition at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Tragically, despite the valiant efforts of rescue teams, Vlorian could not be saved, and his body was recovered hours later.

This unimaginable tragedy has left Vlorian’s family devastated, facing not only the overwhelming grief of losing their son but also significant financial burdens for funeral expenses and emotional support services.

We are organizing this fundraiser to support Carolmaria Bernardino and her family in their time of need. All donations will go directly to Carolmaria to assist with:

- Funeral and memorial expenses

- Counseling and grief support for the family and community

As close friends of Carolmaria, we are working directly with her to ensure all funds are managed responsibly and go toward these critical needs.
