Help Cover Wyatt’s Hospital Bills & Expenses

Donation protected
Wyatt has suffered with sickness his whole life. At age 7 he was diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder called Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor Associated Periodic Syndrome (TRAPS).
His disorder causes inflammation in his body, high fevers, muscle and body aches, skin rashes, and GI track issues. The inflammation also causes proteins that develop in his organs and can cause organ failure. He takes medication by monthly injection to help his condition and lessen the proteins that collect in his organs.
Although he has less suffering with TRAPS while on his medication, one of the side effects of the medication is that it makes Wyatt susceptible to sickness because the medication is an immune suppressant. This means he is now more often sick with colds and other infections.
Last Thursday Wyatt collapsed and was unresponsive. Wyatt was rushed to Valley Children’s Hospital and the ER transferred him to the ICU. Wyatt was in septic shock and tested positive for Influenza B. They later found he was fighting staph and streptococcus infections as well which made his blood pressure dangerously low.
Wyatt had a PICC (multi port injection) line installed and some heart monitors installed in an artery in his wrist. He was put on two epi drips to stabilize his blood pressure, six antibiotics, and a steroid to help with inflammation. Wyatt’s will need to stay another 10 days in the hospital on IV antibiotics and a steroid drip to ensure the infection goes away and his body can heal.
Wyatt’s infections disease doctor has advised the family to purchase UV air scrubbing filters for their home, the family’s church, and other places he frequents. This will help remove infection spores that may be present near Wyatt. These filtering machines are not cheap. The family is also facing costly expenses due to this hospital stay and the time taken off work to be with Wyatt during this stressful ordeal.
In addition to the air sanitizers, the home Wyatt and his family live in needs a completely new HVAC system in order to have the air be sanitary enough for Wyatt’s health needs. This is a costly renovation. The family has been quoted over 20,000 for the new system. This is part of the reason we’ve had an increase in need.
As always, we ask you pray for Wyatt and his family. It’s never easy when you have a child in the hospital. We also ask that you give towards the costs of Wyatts medical treatments and the family’s unexpected expenses during this time.
You may give directly to the family or through this fundraiser. We will also be posting the filters so that you may purchase them for the family if you wish.
Thank you very much for your kindness.
