Grandpa's Cancer Treatments and Comfort

December 2020 my dad was hospitalized with what we thought was pneumonia or an infection. They found out he had many blood clots in his lungs and a large mass. In January 2021 my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. Shortly after this diagnosis we found out it has spread to his lymph nodes, liver, clavicle, ribs, spine, femur, bones and brain. He has also battled with skin cancer for many years which we thought was under control and manageable but most likely never was. We are awaiting the brain scan results.  My dad can't work, and hasn't for a few months, because he is in pain and treatment will begin soon. My mom is still working full time but would like to have more time off to help my dad, especially when treatment begins. This has been shocking news because there were no early signs to prepare us and he is otherwise active and healthy. The cancer has been growing/spreading for years but is all new to us and we can't really process it. It is very devastating. My mom said medical bills have already been coming in that she doesn't want him to know about because it will make him sad to know he can't help pay them and there will only be more with time because his treatment will be so extensive. Any money raised from this will go to my mom to pay my dad's medical bills for his cancer treatment and give my mom some tiny amount of peace and support. I want my dad to live to see the boys grow and I want them to know their grampa so I don't want any type of treatment to be out of the question because of money.  My parents do not know I have started this fundraiser because I don't want them to feel like they are a burden or have any added stress. So for now I'd like to keep this fundraiser unknown to them and at the right time share with them everyone who has been part of it.
