Help Cree pay for affordable housing & storage
Donation protected
Due to a sudden change in circumstances, I'm being forced to leave my Laurel St. home of 23 years in New Orleans, LA under duress. Friends banded together to help me get the word out and raise funds with my own GoFundMe page.
On October 22, my husband Donald Miller died unexpectedly, so I'm also undertaking this challenge while in the throes of grief.
My eviction was just fast-tracked and could happen as early as the end of November, and I need to find an affordable rental I can move into by early December. Know there are places for older people like me. Ideally a 2 BR I could share with a housemate that allows cats.
I also need to find an affordable, easily accessible place to store the wearable assemblage art and vintage I take to my markets, as well as a standard unit for long term storage.
Due to serious health issues -- I'm 77 years old and fighting stage 4 cancer while recovering from a broken femur -- I'm not able to undertake a move of this magnitude on my own.
Any donation, no matter how small, will be used to help me find, move into and and pay for an affordable rental in my longtime home of New Orleans, where I've been a valuable asset to the creative community as a writer, designer and an art market manager.
