Help Crema Bakery & Cafe Survive (& THRIVE)

Hello friends and fans of brunch & sweets! We opened Crema Bakery & Cafe in South Austin 7 1/2 years ago to offer our neighbors a place to gather with good coffee, great food and fun treats. We have loved supporting our local nonprofits and schools, getting to know our neighbors through everyday interactions, and sweetening some of your best moments through weddings, birthdays and family celebrations. Before the Covid pandemic, we were on track to relocate the restaurant part of our business to a new, much larger space, which would enable us to offer a more extensive menu, full bar and our brand of scratch-made comfort food all day long. Our spot on Brodie was to become our bakeshop, with craft coffee, wine & beer, and an even bigger array of sweets and treats to help you celebrate occasions large and small. But the six-plus months of the pandemic have decimated our dream and our livelihood. We have lost all of our wholesale and wedding business. Our dining room is too small to safely social distance with dine-in service. We now are fighting to keep the doors to our Brodie location open and are likely to lose the new space. We need your help to keep our dream alive. Proceeds from this fund will help make up the difference in financing we’ve lost so we can secure our new space and reopen for dine-in service. We miss our people! And we miss making the food you’ve come to love from us! We know so many local businesses are suffering, and we’re grateful for everyone who has stuck with us thus far.
