With COVID19 pandemic besetting the globe and Gambia no exception. The world is lockdown so with economic hardship.
With among world poorest nations, the pandemic could have a long lasting impact on the economic life of Gambians
Central River Region is by far the biggest region by size in The Gambia with 647 communities. As per research the region could be the hard hit with the current situation with all businesses shutdown and all daily economic routings at standstill in the region that entirely rely on farming and trade.
The regional youth committee of CRR therefore take this endeavor to start a fund raising campaign to help some of the vulnerable communities mainly those at the border with Senegal to help provide basic food stuffs to help at least minimize the burden.
During our recent regional tour we came across one village called Ranerou one sami district CRR North. This village of 78 household have a old borehole that is 61 meter deep and with this unreal and unfortunate experience sometime the villages will cross border to buy water from the neighboring Senegal to sustain.
This situation sadden us that is why we endeavor to raise money to help these vulnerable villages.
Any money raise will be use to help the region.
