Help Cruz Mayfield & Family Fight Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
Just this past March Cruz was diagnosed with stage 4 Colorectal Cancer. The cancer is now in his lymph node's and has spread to his liver. Doctors have told us the best plan of attack is to start with heavy chemo for six months. Then once the mass has shrunk enough to safely perform surgery they will remove the mass and follow up with six more months of chemo and radiation together to hopefully knock out anything that could of been missed. This is a long hard journey for some one who never gets so much as a headache. I can count on one hand the colds this man has had in the 23 yrs we have been married. I am praying his body will fight off this cancer like it has done with all other illnesses for so many years. Cruz is only 51 years old and has so much to live for, so much love to give and so much more to do with his life. This can't and won't be the end for him or us. He's been a wonderful provider for our family and not being able to continue that is a very hard pill to swallow for him. He's a man that works sun up to sun down for what we have. He's so talented in his craft and prideful with everything he does.
My husband Cruz Mayfield has been a hard working people pleaser for about 23 years in the Lynchburg area. He's probably put vinyl siding, gutters, or replacement windows on your house. Built you an amazing deck and/or screened in porch. He most likely has been there when your home or business needed a full remodel after a water damage or fire. Maybe he's installed a beautiful custom tile shower or back splash in your kitchen or bathroom. Many businesses in the area know him for putting down perfect luxury vinyl or tile floors in their offices. He's currently known as one of the best custom tile installers in the Lynchburg area with Piedmont Floor Show Carpet One. Many others know him for lending a hand with countless Habitat for Humanity builds. No matter how you know him, forgetting his face, personality and name is impossible.
Not only has he been a hard worker in the community he has been a hard working husband and father for 23 yrs. He's been an amazing father of 2 older daughters which have given him a beautiful granddaughter a handsome grandson and another on the way and our 2 teenaged boys. Playing in the living room floor with toys or watching a movie he's always been ready to play and hang out with the kids. He has a special bond with our boys and their love for dirt bikes. He got our oldest Ethan his first gas powered ATV at age 5 and not long after it was dirt bikes for life. When our second son Andrew came along and was big enough he was right there with him too. He's been a wonderful coach and role model for our boys with their adventures in spring board diving for LDA & for Brookville High School, swimming for Rainbow Forest Pool summer league & Brookville High School, racing dirt bikes at Lake Sugar Tree Motorsports Park and anything else the boys have ever been interested in.
Cruz and I met when I was 17 yrs old and just a junior in high school. I was working at my first job which was a local convenience store and he would come in for a few things after his work day. I was so shocked the day he decided to talk to me. As one short conversation turned into a date , then another , not long after we were inseparable. A few thought our relationship would never last. He took me to my high school ring dance, he was there with me through my modeling career, when I've lost high school friends, and he's been there through the hardest times of my life like losing both of my parents . One of the best times of my life was the day he asked me to marry him! We decided to get married at Peaksview Park, the same park where we had our first date, it couldn't of been more perfect for us. There are so many things in my life I can truly say I could not of done or survived with out him. I could never in life be more thankful for the 2 beautiful boys he has given me and our loving relationship that was always meant to be. True soul mates is what we are. We have been through so many good times and bad but nothing seems harder than watching him go through the fight we have ahead of us. He's been my rock and the rock for many others during hard times its our turn to be his rock.
If anyone is able to help us during this time with the heavy medical and house hold bills we will have, we would forever be so grateful. I am a photographer and can't work but so many hours when I am needed at home and need to take him to doctors appointments, our boys have swim practice about to start up for the summer and our oldest is about to start his first life guard job. I have so much going on its impossible to be everywhere and on top of everything all at the same time but I do try. With your help we can stop stressing out over the bills we can not control and stay focused on being positive for Cruz and getting through this incredibly hard time in our lives. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support.
