Help Cullen's Journey to Recovery

Rachel and Adam Kleinhanzl’s son, Cullen, a sweet, fun-loving second grader was recently diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphocytic leukemia (B-ALL) and has just started his treatment at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago. Leukemia is a cancer of the blood characterized by the rapid growth of abnormal blood cells. This uncontrolled growth takes place in your bone marrow, where most of your body’s blood is made.

We’re asking for your help to lift this incredible, faithful family as they fight leukemia. Every donation, prayer, and share will make a huge difference in ensuring that the Kleinhanzl family can focus on what matters most – Cullen’s recovery.

So many of you in our wonderful and supportive community have already reached out and asked how you can help. The Kleinhanzl family is still adapting to their new reality. Part of that process is figuring out what they will need, and how people can help. We know their needs will be great, so while they figure out the granular day-to-day needs, we wanted to start a GoFundMe for Cullen's overall wellbeing and care. Funds that are generously donated here will be used for Cullen's care costs, travel expenses to and from the hospital as well as supportive resources for his sibling Hudson. No amount is too small, and even those who cannot donate can help by sharing.

Having a child with cancer is harrowing, and Cullen’s treatment plan will be a long journey—up to two years or more of care, including chemotherapy, medications, and potential complications. As a community we will do everything we can to stay strong for him. We are sincerely grateful to everyone for being a part of Cullen’s treatment.

Cullen is a courageous warrior who has not let the news break his spirit, and we know that his strength will shine through.
