Help Cylis-a little boy with terminal cancer in foster care

Hello,

My name is Lizzy, and I am making this gofundme on behalf of my family and our little boy, Cylis.

Cylis is 14 and has Ewing Sarcoma, it is a rare childhood bone disease, he has fought it off before but it has come back again and metastasized, it is in his brain, lungs, heart, every bone of his body, etc. He has been given a 10% chance to live with possibly only months left.

While this is incredibly hard for any family to grapple with, not only is he special needs, but Cylis was illegally taken out of our family 7 years ago and has lived in foster care, group homes, juvenile detention centers (they had no where else to put him) and mental homes since, most recently to include the oncology ward at a Childrens Hospital. We fought for Cylis tooth and nail and had every door closed in our faces by the county/state, we were closed out of his life indefinitely and we were never able to say goodbye or tell him he wasn't abandoned.

Cylis spent the next 7 years living in over 20 foster homes, pleading to anyone who would listen to him that he has a loving family. When he was diagnosed with cancer the first time and admitted to the hospital, he thankfully beat it, but we were never made aware. The second time, Cylis made his dying wishes clear - he wanted to see his family again. The state reached out to us to reunify our family, but it has been a battle. If you are familiar with CPS/DHS, you know how difficult this can be for families, and that we are not the first, and sadly will not be the last, who unspeakable injustices have happened to.

This Gofundme is to help with the following expenses

-obtaining a lawyer so that we can get our child back beyond just visitation rights in a time when he has no time.

-my moving expenses; I am moving from California back home across the country to help care for Cylis and be with him during this time and to act as a voice for him and fight for him

The cost of obtaining a lawyer who is willing to take this case is a retainer of $8k w/ $400 an hour expenses, my moving costs are upwards of $5k, I will be working only at night so that I can dedicate my day time hours to sitting with Cylis and fighting for him.
