I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out today with a heavy heart and a humble request for support. Recently, our lives were upended by a catastrophic flood in Illinois that has left my family pets and me in a dire situation.

The floodwaters surged through our home, completely submerging my basement where I ran my hair styling studio. This studio was not just a workplace but a sanctuary where I poured my passion and energy into creating beauty. Unfortunately, the flood has destroyed everything thousands of dollars worth of property I had worked so hard to build—my hair products, color and bleach supplies, wigs, styling tools, thousands of dollars worth of lights, and even my laptop. Not to mention my washing machine and dryer All of it is now a loss.

When I moved into this home last October, I stored all my professional and personal belongings in the basement and garage for safekeeping. I also stored my car, which is now half submerged and unusable. In addition to my professional tools, I lost a significant portion of my and my mother's clothing—clothes that meant a lot to us, not just in terms of value but also sentimentally.

My mother, who has been struggling physically and mentally since her husband passing in December, relies on me for full care. The flood has compounded our difficulties, leaving us without essentials and facing significant recovery efforts.

We are in need of urgent help to rebuild and recover.
